Kate is a registered Clinical Psychologist providing person-centred psychological support to adults aged 18 years and over who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Kate has a wide range of clinical interests and is passionate about working with people needing help with trauma-related
problems such as:

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Complex and childhood trauma
  • Acute Stress Disorder
  • Sexual assault
  • Family violence
  • Dissociative experiences and disorders

Kate also enjoys helping people experiencing difficulty with:

  • Mood disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Grief and loss
  • Adjustment problems

While working in the areas of public health, not for profit community organisations and private practice, Kate developed an empathic and respectful approach to working with people and believes that psychoeducation and a strong therapeutic relationship creates a safe, supportive, and productive environment in which people may make change, heal, recover, and improve their mental health and wellbeing. Kate values being a neurodiversity-affirming therapist.

Kate is skilled in using a range of evidence-based treatments, which are tailored to an individual’s needs. Kate practices trauma-informed therapy, primarily using Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as a structured treatment approach. She also uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy when working collaboratively with people.

Kate is registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
