Majella is an accredited child, adolescent, infant and parent, and adult Clinical Mental Health Social Worker with 26 years’ experience working in clinical mental health settings. She works across the lifespan and can support adults, parents, children and adolescents individually, or together, through family and relationship therapy settings to facilitate meaningful and long-term change.
She has worked extensively in tertiary infant, child and adolescent mental health services, with expertise working with clients presenting with trauma, troubled attachment relationships, grief, perinatal, and adult mental health challenges.
She uses psychodynamic therapy, creative interventions including psychodrama and therapeutic storytelling, along with mindfulness and relaxation techniques to support clients to feel relief from struggles with anxiety, depression and unpleasant emotions, and difficulties with relationships.
Majella has an individualised therapeutic approach tailored to the needs of her clients. She uses evidence-based interventions grounded in theories of Interpersonal therapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Movement, Trauma and Attachment Informed practice. For children and young clients, Majella utilises play therapy principles, psychodrama, therapeutic storytelling, and creative interventions such as art and music therapy.
She has extensive experience in the provision of family relationship therapy and couples counselling, and she welcomes referrals from couples and families of all diversities. She provides services under:
